Co-op Opportunity with IDeaS Software Development

Summary:
We are seeking a Co-op student who will, as a member of the IDeaS Software Development team, participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle. They will join a delivery team that is actively creating new features to enhance our revenue management products. While on our team, they will have a great opportunity to expand their technical skillset as well as work in an agile environment at believes in test-first, continuous integration and deployment.  Some of the technologies we use are: Spring (core, integration, batch, etc.), Java EE (EJB/JMS /JPA), Vaadin, JAXB, REST, SOAP, SQL Server, MongoDB, Jenkins, Sonar as well as many others.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Design and develop Java web application features.
Produce necessary technical documentation.
Performs other duties, as assigned. 

Essential Job Qualifications  
Planned degree in Computer Science, EE or CE (undergraduate or graduate)
Completed at least 2 years of undergraduate degree in targeted degree
3.0 or above GPA
Experience with Java or JVM supported languages (Groovy, Scala, JRuby, Clojure, etc) either via coursework or industry experience

Other
Flexibility in work hours to manage interaction with geographically distributed employees, vendors and/or partners
Work is typically performed in an office environment, using simple, easy muscular movements, involving only the handling of light materials, tools, or equipment in easy work positions, and with no special speed requirements or long stretches of exertion. 
Vision requirements for this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.

Summer 2015 Internship Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer Intern to join our team for the summer. The qualified candidate will be involved in engineering projects and will spend time in Engineering, Operations, and the Despatch Innovation Center. The position will be located in Lakeville, Minnesota.

PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES

Examples of past intern projects include:

Development of an air bending feature for our oxidation ovens which included design, simulation, hands-on manufacturing and characterization

Product/component  simplification  and  standardization  which  included  analysis  of  existing  components, research on alternatives and design of new component layout

Thermal  characterization  of  solar  metallization  pastes  which  included  literature  research,  design  of experiments, conducting experiments, analysis of results

The idea is that each intern works on a project that is tailored to the specific skills and interests of the candidate. The scope of the projects is chosen, so that the intern is able to complete it within the intern period. In addition to the project itself the intern has the chance to learn about the business practices and philosophies of a Fortune 200 company like ITW.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Currently enrolled in a bachelor level or higher degree program in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, having completed at a minimum your Junior year by summer of 2015
•    Manufacturing experience preferred but not required
•    High degree of technical aptitude
•    Results oriented
•    Strong communication skills
